Alyssa Epstein, originally of Livingston NJ, currently resides in Manhattan. She began her career as a Radio City Rockette in 2005 and since then has performed the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in Chicago, Toronto, Phoenix, Costa Mesa and New York City. Epstein began her dance training at the New Jersey School of Ballet under the direction of Carolyn Clark. Before graduating high school, Alyssa was selected to attend both the Jazz and Modern dance programs at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival; an honor granted to only 25 dancers from around the world per program. Before her freshman year at college she was again selected to return to the Pillow to participate in their Jazz/Musical Theater program. Alyssa went on to earn her BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. While at Illinois Alyssa was selected to perform Twyla Tharp’s trio The Fugue; marking the first time Tharp’s work was presented on a University stage. Alyssa is a proud member of Actor’s Equity and has performed regionally at the PaperMill Playhouse and St. Louis Muny. Alyssa has been seen performing as a company member of WALKERDANCE; a Jazz company directed by Chet Walker, creator of the Tony award winning Broadway musical Fosse. Most recently Alyssa was approached by the estate of Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon to participate in recreations of their work to be filmed for archival purposes. She is currently working on their various upcoming projects. Alyssa is also involved with American Dance Machine for the 21st Century, a new company created and dedicated to “keeping the dance alive.” Alyssa is an avid golfer and plays whenever her dance schedule allows. She can also be heard singing on the Rockettes Sing Your Christmas Favorites CD!
